Public Hearings by the Conservation Commission.

In accordance with the Wetlands Protection Act, a public hearing shall be held by the conservation commission within 21 days of receipt of the minimum submittal requirements set forth in the General Instructions for Completing a Request for Determination of Applicability, a Notice of Intent , an Abbreviated Notice of Intent and an Abbreviated Notice of Resource Area Delineation.  The Public Hearing Notice shall be advertised in accordance with M.G.L. c. 131, § 40 and the requirements of the open meeting law, M.G.L. c. 39, § 23B.

Notice of the time and place of said hearing shall be given by the commission at the expense of the applicant, not less than five days prior to such hearing, by publication in a newspaper of general circulation in the town.  In the case of West Bridgewater the publication will be found in the ENTERPRISE located in the local news section of the paper.

Except in cases of emergency, the Commission must provide the public with notice of its meeting 48 hours in advance, excluding Saturdays, Sundays, and legal holidays.  The meeting notice can be found at the Town Clerk's office at the West Bridgewater Town Hall.  In addition, the meeting and the agenda can be found on the town CALENDAR which is on the West Bridgewater web site.  The Commission holds Public Hearings during their regular scheduled meetings which fall on the FIRST and THIRD Tuesdays of the month except for July.  Notice of emergency meetings must be posted as soon as reasonably possible prior to the meeting.
