HOW DO I REGISTER TO VOTE?
You must be 18 years old and a U. S. Citizen.
Massachusetts citizens can apply online by visiting Secretary Galvin’s website at www.sec.state.ma.us and clicking the “Massachusetts Register to Vote Online” button to access the online application system.
You can also register in person, by mail or at the Registry of Motor Vehicles.
Attached is a mail in voter registration form if you prefer to register by mail. Just fill it out and mail it to the Town Clerk's Office, 65 N. Main St., West Bridgewater,

You will receive verification by mail after registering.
WHEN IS THE ANNUAL TOWN MEETING AND TOWN ELECTION HELD?
The Annual Town Meeting is traditionally held midspring on a date determined by Board of Selectmen
The Annual Town Election is held on the second Saturday in April.
Special Town Meetings are held periodically during the year.
Warrants for Town Meetings and Elections are posted in the following places: Town Hall, West Bridgewater Post Office, West Bridgewater Public Library, Council on Aging, Hockomock Liquor Store, Police Station, Fire Station, Two Gals Grille and more, Corner Market, Market Basket, Housing for Elderly, Matfield Woods, Asacks. and Trucchi's.
WHERE DO I VOTE?
All voting is conducted at the Spring Street School, 2 Spring Street.
There are two (2) precincts in the Town of West Bridgewater. Precinct One (1) and Two (2) vote in the cafeteria of the school.
Town Meetings are held at the Middle/Senior High School gymnasium or auditorium.
HOW DO I OBTAIN A BIRTH, DEATH OR MARRIAGE CERTIFICATE?
Certified copies are $10.00 each.
Can be obtained over the counter.
Can be requested by mail: state name(s) and date(s) and send to the Town Clerk,
65 N. Main Street, West Bridgewater with a self addressed, stamped envelope.
Checks should be made payable to the Town of West Bridgewater.
HOW DO I LICENSE MY DOG AND WHAT DO I NEED TO LICENSE MY DOG?
Cost: MALE/FEMALE DOGS $16.00 SPAYED/NEUTERED DOGS $15.00
Licenses are due April 1st every year. A current rabies certificate is required, stating the date of expiration. Also proof that your dog was spayed or nuetered.
Licensing may be done by mail or at the Town Clerk's office during regular business hours.
A $25.00 late fee is charged if the dog is licensed after June 30th.
Dogs still not licensed as of Aug 1st will received a citation for an additional $25.00 from the Police Department/Dog Officer
FAILURE TO LICENSE YOUR DOG AFTER JUNE 30TH COULD RESULT IN A POLICE CITATION AND A COURT SUMMONS
HOW DO I OBTAIN A TRANSFER STATION STICKER?
Transfer station stickers are sold at the Town Clerk's office during regular office hours.

A CURRENT COPY OF YOUR CAR REGISTRATION MUST BE PRESENTED AT THE TIME OF PURCHASE, NO EXCEPTIONS.
TRANSFER STATION STICKER MAY ALSO BE PURCHASED BY MAIL BY SENDING IN A COPY OF YOUR CURRENT REGISTRATION, A STAMPED, SELF ADDRESSED ENVELOPE AND A CHECK FOR EACH STICKER MADE OUT TO THE TOWN OF WEST BRIDGEWATER.
Stickers expire December 31st each year.
HOW DO I OBTAIN A BUSINESS CERTIFICATE?
Fee is $40.00 and certificate is valid for four (4) years.
You and any co-owners must appear in person in the office to supply information and sign the business certificate. Identification is required. You can fill out an application online.
If any changes occur during the four year period, you must appear and file a change or discontinuance form. The fee is $20.00.
HOW DO I APPLY FOR A MARRIAGE LICENSE?
You must call to make an appointment. Town Clerk's Office. 508-894-1167
The fee to file is $25.00.
Both parties must apply together to file the marriage intention.
There is a three (3) day waiting period from the date you file your intention before the license can be issued to you.
The license is only good for 60 days from the date you file your intention.

YOU CAN APPLY FOR A PASSPORT AT THE WEST BRIDGEWATER PUBLIC LIBRARY. PLEASE CALL 508-894-1255 TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT. NO WALK-INS.
WHY IS THE FLAG AT HALF STAFF?
Every so often the Governor or President may order the flags at Half Staff. This order applies to all flags at municipal offices, and applies to the state or nation, respectfully. The Chairman of the Board of Selectmen can also order the flags at half staff under certain conditions per the Selectmen Policy found here.
The Town notifies residents of why the flags are ordered at half staff via email as well as on Twitter (@wbridgewatertwn). If you would like to be notified via email concerning this matter, please email lcarroll@wbridgewater.com with your email address and you will be added.

The Town Clerk is the RAO for the Town of West Bridgewater you can make a request through her office.
You can fill out the Public Records Request Form and either mail it, drop it by or email it to townclerk@wbridgewater.com
