TOWN OF WEST BRIDGEWATER

The Board of Assessors advises residents that the Department of Revenue’s Bureau of Accounts has approved and certified the tax rate for fiscal year 2015.
According to the Board of Assessors, the new rates will represent an equitable distribution of the tax burden for fiscal year 2015.

The residential tax rate will be $17.81 per thousand dollars of assessed valuation. This is a $1.32 increase over the residential tax rate for fiscal year 2014.

The tax rate for commercial, industrial and personal property has been set at
$28.78 per thousand dollars of assessed valuation.  This is a $2.21 increase over fiscal year 2014.

Tax bills are expected to be mailed by December 30, 2014. First payment is due February 2, 2015. Second payment is due on May 1, 2015.

Any application for abatement must be filed by February 2, 2015 by 4:00 p.m..

If you have not already applied, residents who qualify for certain statutory exemptions, such as disabled veterans, elderly, blind, widows, etc. may apply for these exemptions at this time. Community Preservation Act exemption applications are also available. Any questions regarding qualifications may be directed to the Assessors office at 508-894-1212. The office is open from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday and 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Friday.
