Basic Life and AD&D
All benefit eligible employees are welcome to enroll in Basic Life Insurance. The opportunity to enroll is limited to new employees and open enrollment periods. It is important to keep the following in mind when considering enrollment:
- New employees must enroll prior to the end of their month of hire.
- Open enrollment periods are not always offered annually.
- Basic Life & AD&D is $10,000. This amount is reduced to $5,000 upon your retirement.
Voluntary Life Insurance
All benefit eligible employees are also welcome to enroll in Voluntary Life insurance. To do so, you must first enroll in the Basic Life & AD&D plan. The opportunity to enroll is limited to new benefit eligible employees and open enrollment periods. It is important to keep the following information in mind:
- To enroll in voluntary insurance you must first be actively enrolled in Basic Life and AD&D
- New employees must enroll prior to the end of their month of hire
- Open enrollment periods are not always offered annually.
- You can elect coverage in units of $10,000 up to a maximum of $100,000 without proof of health requirements.
- There is a limited opportunity to insure your spouse and dependent children.
